4-8 de mayo

¡Hola Familias!

Let's be real for a minute... is anyone else starting to feel like this??

Some days in my house are better than others... but some days I really feel like we are hitting our "virtual wall".

But guess what?? While we may still be at home for a while, our days of distance learning are almost over before SUMMER! I know that so many of us could use a break, and I pray that with each sunny day, each encouraging conversation, each surprise funny moment, you will feel your soul being refreshed. We can do it!

That being said, I am SO, SO encouraged after each Zoom call, after each one-on-one conversation I've been able to have with you and/or your child, and after each email I receive showing your child's hard work every day. I have cherished so many sweet moments and feel so much joy when we sing, laugh, play, and smile together--even though it's just across a screen.

¡Gracias, Gracias, Gracias!
Thank you all so much for your special words, messages, and gifts you've sent for Teacher's Appreciation week. Although this teaching year has been very unique for me (and for all of us!), it has been such a wonderful year getting to know your children and each and every family in our amazing class. I appreciate all of you!

Need Extra Help?
Some of you have expressed that things are getting difficult and that your child has tough days. Know that I AM HERE FOR YOU. Call me. Let me talk with your child. I am very willing to help your child overcome obstacles, give an encouraging word, or just offer a smile and a virtual high-five! Please, don't hesitate to reach out when you need it. :)

What's Coming Up...

Just a heads up... I am planning a fun, cultural activity for our last week of school (May 26-29). We will be making a piñata!! I haven't totally nailed down the plans yet, but due to Memorial Day on Monday the 25th, we will possibly start on Friday, May 22nd.

I know that you are probably not running out to the store often, so I wanted to give you some time to gather the materials you'll need to make the piñata. I am still deciding between something like method 1 or 2 on this website, but you are welcome to follow any of the 3 methods listed. Please take a look at the materials you'll need and start gathering them together over the next couple of weeks. Don't forget the candy to go inside! :)

I think that's all for now! Hope you enjoy this cold, but sunny, weekend. Also, ¡Feliz Día de las Madres! (Fun fact: Mother's Day in Mexico is always on May 10th, no matter what day of the week it is. This year, both countries' Mother's Day falls on the same day!)

Enjoy your well-earned weekends! :)
