8-12 de abril

¡Hola Familias!

It has been a beautiful week back at school, and we have had some wonderful moments learning together! We stood in awe of God's creation as we learned about the solar eclipse on Monday. We also spent time reviewing our behavior expectations (SER), both inside and outside the classroom, and learned and practiced saying kind words to each other. Finally, we spent time singing, playing instruments, and learning parts of Acts 2 together! As we look towards the end of the school year (8 weeks left?!), we have so much celebrating to do!

Here's what we've been up to this week...

Reading / Lectura: This week we reviewed the syllables that make the sound /k/ with the letters c, k, and q(u). We've also been learning to differentiate between fiction and nonfiction books and talking about what we can learn from nonfiction books.

Writing / Escritura: We are concluding our how-to unit writing our own books! The kids brainstormed a list of things they know how to do and chose their favorite. Then, they filled out a graphic organizer to plan their book. We will finish writing them next week.

Math / Matemáticas: We are practicing the parts of numbers, especially the parts of 10. We've also been practicing new centers that focus on all of the concepts we've covered this year.

Bible / Biblia: This week we went back to the Old Testament to continue learning about Elías (Elijah) and Eliseo (Elishah). We learned how God used these prophets to speak to the Israelitas during difficult times. We also learned how the Israelitas were taken captive into Babylon. We can see how even throughout these difficult times, God was always faithful--and he still is today!
