¡Hola Familias!
Well, here we are with our final blog post of the year. We had a wonderful week! We had lots of fun celebrating each other, sharing our final writing, signing yearbooks with classmates and SI friends, and playing together. Special thanks to all of the parents who contributed to our piƱata celebration on Wednesday; it was a blast!
This has been a significant year for me, as at my family had just returned last August from our year in Guatemala when the school year began. In a sense I felt like a new teacher again, but in another sense, it was like coming home to return to Rose Park. It was a privilege for me to teach your children and to share my experiences with them. This class is a special group of kids, and I felt a deep spiritual sensitivity in them, a desire to learn more about Jesus and to grow closer to him.
I love the song by Life.Church Worship that says, "I've got so much to be thankful for... a thousand blessings, a million more, it's so easy to praise you, Lord. I've got so much, so much to be thankful for." While we all go through difficult times in our lives when we may not feel like giving thanks, there is always something to be thankful for. Finishing this year, I can hear the words to the song in my head and agree--we truly do have so much to be thankful for.
I am so incredibly thankful for each one of your children and for the joy that they brought to our classroom each day. We had a wonderful time together, learned a lot, and celebrated so much! I will truly miss them all next year.
Your child brought home a few items over the last few days that I'd like to point out to you. They are...
-Your child's writing portfolio: a red folder with some work I've saved from over the entire school year. I hope you are as proud of your child as I am!
-Your child's baton. This is a tradition at Holland Christian where we "pass the baton" each year from one teacher to another. You'll find a note I've written to your child (feelfree to Google translate!). Please hold on to it to give to your child's teacher next year.
-A photo placemat/keepsake your child painted with our class photo. They really enjoyed making these!
What a wonderful year we've had together! Again, I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach your child this year in kindergarten. I wish your family the best of summers, full of joy and quality family time! Thank you for your partnership with me this year, and I pray that God will bless your family and make His love and grace known to you, today and every day!
Con mucho amor / With much love,
Maestra Klipp Lopez
